Questions, answered plainly
The things people ask us most, about moving around Tonbridge and heading abroad. If yours isn’t here, just ask — we’d rather tell you straight than leave you guessing.
Everything people ask us
What areas of Tonbridge and around it do you cover?
TN9 and TN10 across Tonbridge town, and TN11 out to Hildenborough, Hadlow, Leigh and Golden Green. We’ll happily quote moves that start or finish just beyond that too — just ask when you get in touch.
Are you the same as removals in Tunbridge Wells?
No — Tonbridge (TN9) and Tunbridge Wells (TN1–TN4) are two different towns a few miles apart. We’re a Tonbridge firm and Tonbridge is our home patch; we cover the town and its immediate villages rather than presenting ourselves as a Tunbridge Wells company.
Do you do house removals in Tonbridge?
House moves are the core of what we do — from a flat near the High Street to a Victorian villa or a grammar-school-catchment family home. We match the crew and van to the property, offer standard or full-care levels of service, and rebuild furniture at the other end.
What’s the difference between a standard and a full-care move?
A standard move is the careful basics done properly — a trained crew, the right van, everything wrapped and protected, and you handle your own packing. A full-care move adds the packing, the dismantling and the reassembly, so we handle the whole day and you barely lift a box.
Can you move an office or business in Tonbridge?
Yes — we move offices and businesses around Tonbridge and the TN postcodes. We plan the sequence so IT and desks come apart and go back together in the right order, and we can work evenings or a weekend to keep your trading week intact.
Do you offer storage?
We do. If your dates don’t line up — a sale completes before a purchase, or you’re between places for a while — we can store your things in a clean, secure unit and bring them out when you’re ready. It’s handled by the same team, so it’s one plan throughout.
Can you pack for me?
The whole home or just the parts you’d rather not tackle. Everything is boxed with proper materials, labelled by room, and listed on a full inventory so nothing goes missing between the two ends — that inventory is part of how we keep every detail accounted for.
How do you cope with the narrow High Street and loading in town?
It’s local knowledge we rely on. Parts of central Tonbridge are tight for a lorry, so we check the access and any loading or parking restrictions before the day, and bring a smaller shuttle vehicle where the street calls for it. Nothing about the day should be a surprise.
Which European countries do you move to from Tonbridge?
France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Each is a road-planned move — loaded in Tonbridge, out on the A21 and M26 to the M25 and the Channel crossings, then on to the destination. We prepare the post-Brexit customs paperwork so your things clear cleanly at the border.
How do you handle customs on a European move?
We prepare the inventory and the transit and customs documents a household move now needs, and file them for you. Timing at the border depends on the route and the paperwork rather than a fixed schedule, and your written quote sets out what to expect for your particular move.
Do I have to be there on the day?
Ideally someone is, at both ends, to point things out and check the inventory off with the crew. If that’s genuinely not possible we can talk through other arrangements, but a move always runs better with someone who knows the place on hand.
What if I need to change the date?
Tell us as early as you can and we’ll do our best to move things around. Weekends and month-end fill up first, so a bit of notice gives us the most room to help. The specifics of any deposit or rescheduling sit in the booking terms.
Didn’t find your answer?
Send us your move and any questions with it. We’ll come back promptly with a clear, itemised quote and the answers you need.
